Hysterectomy surgery and fibroids treatment at Fortis La Femme Hospital in New Delhi

Barbara Boardman travelled from Nigeria to India to recieve treatment for fibroids and undergo a hysterectomy at Fortis La Femme Hospital in New Delhi.

Initially daunted at the prospect, Barbara reflects on a very successful and stress-free trip: "I must start by saying that as I embarked on the journey from Nigeria, I never knew the kind of place I was coming to. All I had was just the information  the website which could deceive anyone but to my greatest surprise as I arrived Delhi Airport, Mr Anoop Bhaatt, one of the employees of Fortis had sent a taxi driver to pick us up.

"As we entered the hospital, he was already waiting to see us. What really caught my attention is the friendly nature he had .... I registered, did consultations and then collection of sample to run tests. Before I could say anything I was admitted and by the next day I was in surgery.

"In Intensive care, I had a nurse who cared for me all night before I was taken to my room the next day. All together I spent 5 days in the hospital. It was 5 days of care, I never missed home because the nurse made me feel at home.

"I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the entire team. God bless everyone because I am a different woman now. I am thankful to god for keeping me alive to see this day. A special thank goes to Ms Jyotsana for introducing a brother, a friend and a professional like Mr Anoop Bhatt. He really made each day special for us even after we left the hospital.  There is nothing like having someone being there for you in a place where there’s no family. Thanks to him and may god continue to bless him."
