Consider cosmetic surgery in Cyprus

Cyprus is often the forgotten destination when considering cosmetic surgery.

Athena Theodorou of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation says,” We are a recent destination for cosmetic surgery. Hospitals here have spent millions in the past few years to meet stringent European standards as a prerequisite for joining the EU, and now they are looking for a return on that investment. We know we have got something special here, with new hospitals and experienced surgeons trained in the best overseas medical schools. A national effort is being made at government level to promote those facilities to overseas patients.”

Cyprus attracts an increasing number of visitors for medical purposes, thanks to the high quality care at competitive prices and comfortable recuperation facilities that are available here.

There are 22 private hospitals on the island and several new health spas offering a wide range of traditional and alternative treatments and therapies. The island has experienced and highly qualified doctors trained in Europe or the USA, modern medical centres and all at cost effective prices.

In Cyprus you can have all your medical needs met and medical standards are high. From annual checkups, cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, physiotherapy, kidney dialysis, cardiac care, dental and surgical procedures to infertility treatment, the island offers health care tourism.

Medical tourism agency Picture Perfect’s Joanna Matsentides comments,” A heart bypass costs £10,000 here compared to £16,000 in London. If you need a hip replacement it is£6,000 in Larnaca but £9,000 in Leeds], and there is no waiting.’ The most popular procedure is IVF (£2,725 here, £8,000 in the UK). Treatment takes up to a month, with no upper age limit, and preimplantation embryonic scanning for genetic abnormalities is permitted under Cypriot law.
