Massage, mud and mineral water treatment at the Thermia Palace in Piestany

Marathon runner Gill Nunn and her husband indulged themselves in the massage, mud and mineral waters of the 5 star Danubius Health Spa Resort Thermia Palace.

On arrival they went straight to the spa to book their appointments; first stop the mirror pool. Gill recalls: "20 minutes sitting in mineral waters at a temperature of 41 degrees...bliss. I am a marathon runner and my muscles and indeed even my weary bones felt relaxed. And as for my husband, a complete spa virgin, well he was floating back to our room eagerly awaiting his next treatment...and for an extremely tall and well built Scotsman to be wearing a robe with little complaint surely says something.

"We both benefitted from excellent massages soothing our backs, both of which have had recent medical attention, but surely the best thing was the mud treatment. We felt so soothed and cleansed afterwards and very pampered by spa staff for whom nothing was too much trouble."
