If you suffer from hair loss and wish to recover your real hair that will grow for life, hair transplants are what you need. While 66% of men lose their hair at some point in their lives, most of them retain a large portion of hair on the temples and at the back of the skull - known as 'hair capital'.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Also known as the 'strip' method, Follicular Unit Transplantation is the most commonly practised technique.
Today, with the microfollicular hair transplant technique, it is possible to cover larger bald areas by optimising the 'hair capital' of the patient.
Follicular grafts, extracted from a strip of hair taken from the back of the scalp, are then separated with the use of stereoscopic binocular microscopes. An expert team of a dozen people for a single patient can transplant 3500-7000 hairs in 4-5 hours.
FUT produces undetectable results and is appropriate for the majority of patients. Click here to see the results achieved with the FUT technique.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Follicular Unit Extraction is less invasive than the FUT method, and offers excellent results without any scars, pain or oedemas after the operation, and without any need for shaving. To date, only a few surgeons around the world, have mastered the FUE technique.
With FUE hair grafting is performed by extracting and transplanting follicular grafts one by one.
The advantages of FUE
-
Faster recovery - you can return to work the following day
-
At the end of the operation the donor zone will still be covered with hair
-
The extraction method leaves no scars on the donor zone
-
The thin grafts obtained through FUE are almost invisible
-
Individual follicular unit grafts are excised one at a time, making it possible to extract hair from different parts of the patient's head
FUE is suitable for men with low to medium thinning of the hair. Click here to see the results achieved with the FUE technique.
