All the state of the art facilities are certified by the “Haute Autorité de Santé” (independent state body accredited by ISQua) and MRSA levels are far below national average. They are evaluated each year by the French Health Ministry and have received grade “A” ratings for their performance when it comes to infection prevention & hygiene.

The total number of employees in its 26 operating units is 5,100 and there are some 3,800 beds. 1,300 doctors work in Capio units, which received more than 490,000 patients in 2010. Despite the complexity of the procedures carried out, Capio and surgical teams are in constant search of low invasive techniques whenever possible, to allow for faster recovery, less pain and reduced length of stay.

Many reasons to choose Capio Santé include:

Eye surgery procedures offered by Capio Santé in France

The clinic which welcomes international eye surgery patients is in Toulouse. Cataract operations are performed with modern equipment allowing small incisions and therefore no stitches. This means patients recover quicker.

In consultation with the patient surgeons can set up regular lenses as well as multifocal intraocular lenses depending on the patient’s preferences and the condition of their eyes prior to surgery.

Multifocal intraocular lenses not only correct the vision problems caused by a patient’s cataracts, they also improve the quality of the patient’s vision prior to them having cataracts. The outcomes are so good that in 90% of the cases the patient won’t need glasses anymore.

Capio Santé's eye surgeon is one of the most experienced eye surgeons in France when it comes to setting up multifocal intraocular lenses in addition to regular cataract intraocular lenses. He personally performs around 800 surgeries each year –this includes about 600 cataract surgeries. About 30% of those cataract surgeries are done with multifocal intraocular lenses. During his studies he spent a year in Canada as a resident Fellow and speaks very good English.

For more information on this special advanced lenses please visit the website of our preferred lens supplier, the international German-based company Carl-Zeiss Meditec (www.meditec.zeiss.com), which has a long experience and excellent reputation in cataract surgery products.

Cataract surgery is done on a daycare basis. If both eyes need surgery, a few days in between the 2 surgeries are necessary.

Capio Santé will soon be able to propose top notch eye-lid surgery, with a dedicated ophthalmologist team. Meanwhile if you need more information please contact them by mail.
