Ukrainian doctor accreditation (orthopaedic surgeons)
Doctors in Ukraine are generally well trained in one of the State Medical Universities, which are all accredited by the State Accreditation Committee of Ukraine and by the General Medical Council in the UK. Regulation and approval for the course content and syllabus requirements of medical degrees in the Ukraine is granted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Medical universities used to be separate from traditional universities but some medical schools have now built formal links with the main academic centres. After completing the Doctor of Medicine degree (becoming an MD or MBBS), doctors are then able to take further, post graduate studies in different specialisms; each course lasts 2-3 years.
Training is run monitored by the Ministry of Health and all doctors must be registered with the Ukrainian Medical Council. You can check on the credentials of your chosen doctor or surgeon by emailing info@medicalcouncilukraine.org.
Some of the top Ukrainian medical universities are accredited and listed in the International Medical Education Directory, and offer the chance to study for a medical degree in English as well as Ukrainian. The syllabus covered is the same but leads to the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). English speaking doctors have far greater employment opportunities within the private health sector in the Ukraine, but many seek to work abroad after qualification.
Ukrainian dentist accreditation
Dentists in the Ukraine are trained to high, internationally acceptable standards, completing a full time dental course lasting 5 years at one of the State Medical Universities. People awarded the Bachelor of dentistry (BDS) can then practice. Some Ukrainian medical universities also offer the option of a further degree in dental orthopaedics, involving two years of study.
Ukrainian cosmetic surgeon accreditation
