Mexico: doctor accreditation
Aspiring doctors in Mexico can gear their education towards medicine as early as year 10 of school. Once at medical school, they complete 6 or 7 years of study to gain their "Titulo de Medico Cirujano" degree. However, before they are awarded their degree, they must serve a minimum of a year practicing general medicine in a rural community helping the poor.
Many Mexican doctors choose to study at medical schools in the United States.
Mexico: dentist accreditation
With so many practices springing up around the border area, it is important to make sure that your chosen dentist has undergone thorough training to a certified standard.
Professional dental standards are monitored by the ADM (Mexican Dental Association). US trained dentists may also be members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Most reputable surgeries will conform to the exacting hygiene standards of the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
