Mrs Ann Miller from Manchester went to Greece in February 2001 for aesthetic dental work. She was extremely fearful of visiting the dentist and each trip lasted a day or two more than her dental needs required because her extreme dental phobia made her unable to tolerate long appointments (she couldn’t keep her mouth open for longer than a couple of minutes without needing to take a break and didn’t like the deep recline of the dental chair). However, Dr Vlassopoulos put Mrs Miller totally at ease and she is now a faithful once-a-year returning patient for cleaning and check-up’s. She said: “I couldn’t tolerate any type of dentistry treatment at home, let alone the extensive treatment (three short-span porcelain bridges and several composite restorations) that needed to be done. It’s a huge relief to find such an understanding and competent dentist”. The cost of Mrs Miller’s care in the UK would have been £8,400 but in Greece she paid £2,500.
